Graduating from San Diego State in 1984 with a distinguished degree in Economics, Mark Kagan's first experience in the workforce was at CB Richard Ellis, where he was trained in the principles of leasing and selling commercial real estate. After seven successful years as a commercial real estate broker, he returned to school and obtained a law degree from Thomas Jefferson School of Law. Mark went to work as a litigator upon being admitted to the California bar in 1995. After several years of practicing law, which included appointments with the California Attorney General, and San Diego District Attorney, Mark returned to the real estate industry, where he spent the next 13 years focusing on transactional matters. Over the course of time, he has worked in-house for companies in the telecommunications, institutional real estate, and brokerage fields. The body of Mr. Kagan's experience encompasses the successful negotiation of over 500 leases, license agreements, easements, the acquisition and asset management of a national commercial real estate portfolio. He has also syndicated and managed investment properties since 2002.  Additionally, he has performed receivership services nationwide.  He is capable of handling transactions nationwide and has had much success with all sectors of business.

From January 2001 to February 2002, Mark served as the liquidating agent for a large portfolio of real estate assets located in seven states. He was responsible for determining highest and best use, valuation, and disposition.

At the present time, Mark specializes as a commercial real estate broker, solely representing tenants and purchasers to lease or buy commercial real estate for their business locations, locally and nationwide. Mr. Kagan has represented distinguished clients to include General Motors Holding Corp., Mobile Mini Corp., Skyline Graphics SE Corp., Sea Coast Science Inc., and Telecu Corp.

Mark is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association, The Bar Association of Northern San Diego County, The Business Adviorsy Counsel, San Diego Venture Group, San Diego Networking Group, Association for Corporate Growth, Provisors, and Vistage.

He has been married for 19 years, has two boys, and resides in Carlsbad, California. He is an avid surfer and outdoors man.


Michael Schumacher

Michael Shumacher- Development

Michael Schumacher is an experienced real estate developer with a comprehensive understanding of the entire development process, from land acquisitions through construction management. Mr. Schumacher, the founder of Enact Partners (2002), has been involved in developing a wide range of real estate product types such as office, industrial, residential, historic rehabilitation, and environmental mitigation banks.

His experience includes the development of office buildings in Kansas City and California, program management for the rehabilitation of 26 historic buildings at the former Naval Training Center base in San Diego, development of the Four Seasons Resort timeshares in Carlsbad, and a 73 acre environmental mitigation bank in northern California.

Mr. Schumacher has served as Vice President of Commercial Development for Kilroy Realty Corporation, a publicly traded REIT. His responsibilities at Kilroy Realty included oversight of acquisition, land entitlement, design, scheduling, and budgeting of commercial office developments in various stages. As part of the execution of these projects, he was directly involved in an array of eminent domain and encroachment contracts with public agencies such as CalTrans, SANDAG, and the City of San Diego.

Prior to moving to California in 2001, Mr. Schumacher worked for a real estate developer and an architecture firm in Kansas City. He was a Senior Project Manager for Tower Properties, a commercial office and apartment complex developer in Kansas City, Missouri. While at Tower Properties, he was responsible for negotiating contracts with the architects, engineers, and contractors for numerous concurrent projects for more than 3 million square feet of office space and apartment complexes. His responsibilities included program management, budgeting, schedule compliance, value engineering, and overall project administration. In addition, he directed the firm’s business development efforts to launch third-party construction management services. Mr. Schumacher also worked for a prominent architecture firm, CDFM2, where he led a team of architects to consolidate Sprint’s office space throughout the city and produce a system to track all real estate projections. This consolidation effort resulted in an architectural program that ultimately served as the basis for the 240 acre Sprint world headquarters in Overland Park, Kansas.

Mr. Schumacher received a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration from North Dakota State University, and a Masters in Business Administration degree from Central Michigan University.

Mr. Schumacher lives in Carlsbad, California with his wife and two children, where he remains active in business and community service organizations. In 2005 he was appointed to the Design Review Board (current), by the Mayor of Carlsbad; this board acts as the Planning Commission for the Redevelopment Districts. He is on the Board of Directors for New Village Arts Theatre and is active in the Rotary Club in Carlsbad. Mr. Schumacher also serves as co-chair of the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce Business Vitality Committee, and is past chair of its Downtown Redevelopment Committee. In 2004, he was recognized as ‘Committee Person of the Year’ by the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce.  Mr. Schumacher has also been actively involved in Junior Achievement and the National Association of Industrial Office Properties (NAIOP). He also holds an active Real Estate sales license in the State of California.


Jamie Prevost-Tenant Improvement Construction

Jamie Prevost, President of Prevost Construction, Inc., is a dedicated professional with over 18 years experience specializing in design and construction of fast track tenant improvement projects.  Jamie works directly with tenants, and landlord's representatives to prepare construction budgets, timeline schedules, plan development, and value engineering.  With his many years experience comes expert technical ability and problem solving capabilities to acheive any tenant improvement buildout in all disciplines to include office space, manufacturing, lab and mission critical applications, and commercial retail construction.  Jamie possesses unsurpassed knowledge and experience with current building codes and ADA requirements.  His personal oversight of all aspects of a project ensures our clients receive expert guidance of the construction process, which in turn leads to superior results.

Jamie is a graduate of Orange Coast College, and Palomar College where he earned degrees in Construction Technology and Construction Management.  He is a member of NAIOP, having served on the board in 2001 and 2002, and is a member of ISPE since 2007.

Jamie has completed projects for distinguihed businesses to include Texas Instruments, Barney and Barney, Linear LLC, Amllin Pharmaceuticals, Guidant Corp., Chicken of the Sea, Alaris Medical, Proxima Corp., Altera Corp., Scripps Health, and Jade Restaurant.  


Jorge Sorokin- Management & Operations

With over twenty six years of executive management experience at International Manufacturing Companies covering a wide range of industry sectors, Jorge has acquired the proper expertise to help identify, recommend, implement, and oversee the resolution of business issues or problems associated to General Management and Operations both domestically and internationally.  His work experience lies within a wide range of industries: Medical systems and Major appliances at General Electric, a passenger bus manufacturing company (Mexicana de Autobuses) and a baby clothing manufacturing company (Carter’s) in Mexico City, a medical device manufacturing company (American Optical), a pharmaceutical – biotech start-up (Dermatrends), an Internet company (Viajo.com) In 2001 he founded Sorokin and Associates, an international management consulting firm specializing in operational optimizations in manufacturing and service oriented industries, strategic planning and cross border business development with a customer base that includes startups, family run businesses, Fortune 500 companies as well as a subcontractor for Deloitte, Kibel Green (Santa Monica), and Morris Anderson (Chicago). Born & raised in Mexico City, Jorge received a B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering as well as Masters Degree in Biomedical Engineering both from the Univ. of Texas at Austin
